Vomo & Navini

A private-island resort and a tiny boutique cay

Some islands in the Mamanucas take a few dozen guests and no day visitors at all. Two of them are worth knowing by name.

Vomo lies at the northern limit of the group, a volcanic hill above broad white beaches with a tiny satellite, Vomo Lailai, alongside. Its resort is among the most expensive in Fiji and unusual in being both luxurious and openly family-friendly. Navini is the opposite kind of small: a coral cay you can walk around in ten minutes, with around ten bures, all facing the beach, and guests who come back year after year.

Top things to do: Vomo & Navini

Climb Mount Vomo

A track leads to the top of Vomo’s hill for a view that takes in both the Mamanucas and the southern Yasawas.

Snorkel from the beach

Both islands have protected reef directly offshore, and both include boat trips to outer snorkelling sites.

Choose your own beach

On Navini the staff set up meals and loungers wherever you like around the island; on Vomo a picnic on Vomo Lailai is the classic outing.
